Petulant Cammi gets 1 game suspension

I'm going to leave this short: What. The. Puck.

Islanders: Rob Schremp out 3-4 weeks (back)

We will not give up that man-games-to-injury title without a fight! Too bad for Schremp, whose late burst last season was ended by a knee injury. Presumably, the season will begin with Tavares-Nielsen-Weight-Konopka at center, although there's plenty of time for injuries to mess with that. Update: Changed the link to the Isles TC Daily, w/ comments from Gordon on Nino and de Haan.

Down Goes Brown Eastern Conference Preview

The bad: John Tavares failed to live up to expectations last year, as fans who shook his hand reported that their leprosy barely improved at all.

Souray on waivers

Sooo...time for idle speculation linking his name with the Isles again from the MSM, then?

Rob Schremp goofing with Jurcina

This was posted on the Islanders Twitter page. RSH grabs the puck out of the air and shoots it Lacrosse style.

THN: Gordon Q&A on the kids

From the weekend. Gordon talks a bit about Nino, Rhett, DiBendetto.

Today's Coaches

I want pre-draft genetic shoulder and hip testing mandatory in the CBA! 2:10 pm: As first reported by Katie Strang of Newsday, Kyle Okposo needs surgery on his right shoulder and will be sidelined indefinitely. At this point, with details not fully released, all that remains is the hope that Okposo’s prognosis is not equal to the full tears of Mark Streit’s left shoulder that will keep the defenseman out for approximately six months. In other news, the Islanders have signed defenseman Mike Mottau to a two-year contract. What a training camp this has been. Comments.

For the love of god make these guys drink some milk already! As per Botta: 11:25 am: Travis Hamonic just appeared to suffer an upper-body injury, possibly to a shoulder, at practice. Working with the "Philadelphia" group after already skating with the first group on ice at camp today, Hamonic got tangled with a teammate in a drill and crashed into the boards behind Dwayne Roloson’s goal. After spending five minutes on the bench being attended to by Nates Gato, Hamonic left the ice and went to the trainer’s room. Making it to the cap ceiling by bulk 2010!
