The Islanders will play their final regular season game at Nassau Coliseum and this game with the New Jersey Devils means nothing more than that — barring catastrophic injury.
The Isles are three points behind the Bruins, so theoretically they could still pass them for the third seed instead of the fourth, but even that’s more of a “would you rather face the Penguins or the Capitals?” kind of thing.
We know the Isles will rest some players (Cal Clutterbuck, perhaps?). Barry Trotz did confirm Brock Nelson would suit up for his 300th consecutive game. The rest is exhibition, basically.

So enjoy the moment with the pressure off. Share some memories and some pics, in comments or with that hashtag on the socialverse. The Coliseum has been a beloved place, a maligned place, and a place for immense, amazing memories. You know you’re gonna miss it, warts ‘n all.
