Islanders News: A series of unfortunate events

The Islanders come up near-empty in a two-game series in Buffalo. Also: League-wide reaction to T*m W*lson

With four games against the Sabres and Devils this week, the New York Islanders had a great chance to make a play for a home ice spot in the playoffs.

Halfway through that slate the results are...not good. They entered the week outside the top seeds and so the chances weren’t great, but after twice losing games that they led in Buffalo and only coming away with a point, they’ve given themselves no wiggle room, as Washington and Pittsburgh hold tiebreakers.

Essentially, the Isles are right where they deserve to be.
