Mike and Dan are still excited over 24 hours after the Islanders OT win over the Penguins in Game 1 of their playoff series.

They talk about the mistakes the Islanders overcame in the first two periods before turning things on in the third, and the “Classic Islanders Shit©” that we were all able to witness. They also focus on the steady play of Ilya Sorokin in his first ever NHL playoff start, the joys of watching J-G Pageau work his magic in the playoffs once again and the many dramatic ways in which the Pittsburgh media tries to comfort itself after one loss.

Later, they look ahead to Games 2, 3 and 4 and how the Islanders can stay in the driver’s seat. They also go around the league and talk about other opening games, forcing Canadian media to cover U.S.-based teams for a season, dead horses being beaten and the “John Wick of power plays” (hint: he is not an Islander).
