The New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins have a nooner in Game 1. What a way to start the series. Not to mention, the game will be broadcast nationwide on NBC.
It does not appear that the teams have come out for warm-ups yet, but we can infer how the Isles’ lineup will look based on yesterday’s practice back on Long Island.

Komarov-Barzal-Eberle
Beauvillier-Nelson-Bailey
Palmieri-Pageau-Wahlstrom
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Pelech-Pulock
Leddy-Mayfield
Greene-Dobson
Varlamov
Sorokin
Schneider
Extra Fs: Johnston-Zajac-Dal Colle
Extra D: Hickey-Coburn
Leo Komarov will remain on the top line. It has worked to some degree of success thus far, so I guess we will stick with what works. And it turns out that the skaters were correct.

However, it looks like Semyon Varlamov will not start today. Ilya Sorokin led out the team, which usually indicates the starting goalie.

Perhaps Barry Trotz felt that Varlamov was not yet ready to play so he did not want to push him. Thankfully, Sorokin is a capable goalie. He will have to be because Cory Schneider dressed behind him.
