The NHL has finally announced the first round playoff schedule (and “scenario,” with Western seeding still to be determined at the time of publication). The New York Islanders will begin their first-round series with the Pittsburgh Penguins at noon on Sunday, May 16, and play every other day afterward.
All times below are Eastern Daylight:
- Game 1: Sunday, May 16, 12 p.m. (NBC, SN, TVA Sports) in Pittsburgh
- Game 2: Tuesday, May 18, 7:30 p.m. (NBCSN, SN, CBC, TVA Sports) in Pittsburgh
- Game 3: Thursday, May 20, 7 p.m. (NBCSN, SN360, TVA Sports) on Long Island
- Game 4: Saturday, May 22, 3 p.m. (NBC, SN, TVA Sports) on Long Island
- Game 5*: Monday, May 24, TBD
- Game 6*: Wednesday, May 26, TBD
- Game 7*: Friday, May 28, TBD
The U.S. TV schedule includes at least two weekend games on the traditional broadcast networks, and then of course we’ll see if/when the series goes late.
Will it be a happy Memorial Day weekend, or one where we drown our sorrows?
