New York Islanders vs. Rangers [Game #41 thread]

It’s back-to-back for both teams, and a late-season resumption of the rivalry.

The New York Islanders will bring the same lineup from last night — other than a likely change in goal — to their meeting with the New York Rangers at Nassau Coliseum. Barring an injury, this means Oliver Wahlstrom remains on the taxi squad until the trade deadline when roster restrictions ease.

Hopefully the entire squad looks better tonight in their second game with the ex-Devils Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri in the mix.

Neither team played great last night, but the Islanders nabbed two points (the second via shootout) over the Flyers while the Rangers took a counterpunch from the Penguins, a 5-2 loss a couple of nights after they put up eight on Pittsburgh.

The Isles will surely have Semyon Varlamov in net, while the Rangers will give Alexandar Georgiev his first start in 11 games.
