The New York Islanders aim for another three-game sweep today as they wrap up their set with the New Jersey Devils in Newark. It’s a 5 p.m. EDT start, dementedly early on a back-to-back where the clocks changed last night.
The first meeting on Long Island was a cakewalk, though it saw the loss of Anders Lee (now placed on LTIR). Last night in Newark was much tighter, and required some Kieffer Bellows third-period heroics. “It takes a village,” as Barry Trotz keeps saying.
Today Trotz may make a change or two. One of them is well expected, Ilya Sorokin in goal after Semyon Varlamov put in a very strong performance less than 24 hours ago.

Presumably the Devils would also switch goalies and use their alternate wood, but we’ll see.
One good stat deserves another:
