The New York Islanders welcome fans (in limited numbers, frontline staff and families) back into the building for the first time since the pandemic began as the Devils visit Nassau Coliseum on Thursday night.
An emerging item to keep an eye on: The Devils have a player on the Covid Protocol list after a positive test from their AHL affiliate.
Will Butcher on COVID protocol list for NJD. Devils’ AHL team had a reported positive come back after first period of game Weds. Both teams share Newark space this year. #Isles game is on for tonight but something to watch. Teams play again Sat/Sun in Newark.

Hopefully there is already “an abundance of caution” under revised protocols after previous outbreaks this season among the Stars, Devils and Sabres.
The Islanders, one of the teams that has been unaffected by Protocol List appearances, are rolling and enter the game atop the division.
Ilya Sorokin gets the start tonight. This is the first of three meetings with the Devils in a four-day span, including a weekend back-to-back in Newark.
