It was an unplanned and unquarantined week between games for the Islanders, who last played Sunday and had two games against the Sabres postponed due to Covid on the opponents’ side.
Tonight they resume with the Penguins in town.
Pittsburgh has a very injured blueline and they’ve given up 3.7 goals per game thus far. But they get Kris Letang and Mike Matheson back tonight, and they sit higher in the standings, thanks to a 4-0 record at home (vs. 1-4-1 on the road).
