The Islanders and Sabres will spring right back into action tonight, one night removed from the Islanders’ thorough domination of the Sabres. Last night’s game was on national TV, but tonight, we get the local broadcasts.
During Barry Trotz’s morning media availability, he reported that Anthony Beauvillier will definitely be in the lineup tonight.
Trotz: Beauvillier in tonight, will be only change up front. Likely Sorokin in net for #Isles

It also appears likely that Ilya Sorokin will man the crease. It would be his first start since January 31, a 4–3 overtime loss to the Flyers.
Of course, with Beauvillier coming back, one forward would have to come out of the lineup. We pondered all day who it would be until we received this nugget.
#Isles roster moves, according to the NHL Media website:

-- Beauvillier activated off IR
-- Komarov to the taxi squad
This meant that the recently waived Leo Komarov will exit the lineup and that Oliver Wahlstrom will remain in it. Trotz must trust enough Wahlstrom on that third line. I would guess that Beauvillier will slide right into the spot previously occupied by Komarov, on the left wing of Jean-Gabriel Pageau.
Meanwhile, on the other end of warm-ups:
Carter Hutton will start in goal for the Sabres. Jake McCabe is on the ice for warmups. Same with Rasmus Asplund.

No Brandon Montour.
The only Sabre remaining on the COVID-19 protocol list is Casey Mittlestadt. That is a good sign for them and the league.
Let’s roll.
