The New York Islanders (1-2) are in Columbus to face the Blue Jackets (2-1), who won their first two games of the season (over the Coyotes and Kraken) at home before losing in Detroit(!) on Tuesday.

Anders Lee, who missed the victory in Chicago due to illness, is back and ready to go. But J-G Pageau may take his place in the sick bay. He’s a “gametime” decision. [UPDATE: The decision is Pageau will sit out.]

Barry Trotz said he’s “very comfortable” if Zach Parise has to step in at center if Pageau cannot play. “He’s a pretty detailed guy, he’s played there before.”

Here’s the full pre-game availability from Trotz:

More Blue Jackets notes:

  • The John Tortorella era is over, and Brad Larsen is at the helm.
  • Boone Jenner is their new captain.
  • Zach Werenski missed practice with what was termed a “maintenance day.”
  • Cole Sillinger — son of Mike, former Islander and Blue Jacket and about 10 other teams — is in the lineup as a center at age 18. Fellow rookie Yegor Chinakhov, 20, may line up with him.

(Catch up with more on the Blue Jackets at The Cannon.)

Gametime is 7 p.m. EDT, and they are back on MSG(+2) after Tuesday’s dance with ESPN and that riveting Messier-Chelios intermission crew.
