The New York Islanders aim to make amends for Tuesday’s last-minute regulation loss in D.C. with another crack at the Capitals on Thursday, also in the nation’s capital.

Will there be changes? Barry Trotz promised “a change or two” in the morning scrum. But we’ll see.

Knowing the Great Clamor among fans for changes to the lineup, Arthur Staple’s mistaken tweet had an indvertent troll-like effect:

The Capitals will miss Lars Eller — he, crunched by Leo Komarov on a bad play — though they’ll have another reinforcement or two.

Game time is 7 p.m. EST. Venting time is scheduled for 9 or so.

Milestones R Us

It’s a milestone night for a couple of longtime Isles: Anders Lee is playing in his 500th regular season game, while Josh Bailey (872) is tying Clark Gillies for fourth on the all-time list.
