Mike and Dan discuss the eventful first three games of the Islanders season and the unexpected debut of Ilya Sorokin.

They walk through the three consecutive shutouts (two in favor of the Islanders, one against) and the individual ups-and-downs within them, as well what they say about the team heading into the season. Later, they talk about Semyon Varlamov’s injury ahead of a Saturday night game against the Rangers that led to the long awaited (and highly unsuccessful) first game for their latest goalie of the future.

Along the way, they hit upon other good NHL coaches, Looney Tunes, Rob Schremp and how the Islanders somehow may have gotten lucky despite all of the drama.
