The New York Islanders need to avoid the early series hole and winning Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final. The Tampa Bay Lightning hope to seize the advantage afforded them in a fairly easy opener for them.
What are the Isles’ chances of evening things? Better than the Game 1 blowout loss would indicate. They were gassed, things didn’t go right, and it wasn’t the team we’ve seen most of these playoffs.
It also, perhaps, wasn’t as extreme as it appeared. But that doesn’t matter anymore than the margin of defeat.
Everyone was a gametime decision, so we’ll see if Cal Clutterbuck is an injury scratch, if Thomas Greiss gets another chance in net, and if any other changes are made.
“Group effort and everybody chipping in.”
