The 5-game series rolls on today at noon.

The Islanders and Panthers will do battle in Game 2 today as the clock strikes 12:00... p.m. On a Tuesday. In August. I know Dom leaned into the absurdity of it this morning, but it bears repeating.

In any event, I’m happy to have competitive playoff hockey to watch again today.

The Islanders likely will roll out the same lineup they did in Game 1 on Saturday afternoon, with one possible exception: Johnny Boychuk, who left Game 1 after taking a check to the head from Mike Matheson, may not be ready to go today.

Barry Trotz has not tipped his hand as to which defenseman will dress in his place if Boychuk is not available, but he did say both Noah Dobson and Andy Greene would take warmups and he would decide from there. Semyon Varlamov, who was superb on Saturday, will most likely be between the pipes.
