Last night while the Islanders were dumping the Capitals in D.C., the Flyers were dispatching the Panthers in Philadelphia.
Both teams then traveled to New York where they’ll meet in Brooklyn tonight, separated by just a point in the Metro and wild card standings.
For the moment, the Islanders occupy third in the Metro, tied on points (70) but holding the tiebreaker (games in hand) with Columbus. The Flyers are one point back, with the Hurricanes three points back. What to root for among those other foes tonight? Here’s a guide:

Moves by 3 if we win in reg. because of our opponent.
Moves by 2 if we win in OT and by 1 if we lose in OT.
If we do not move it by 3 it can move by 1 if CAR loses in reg.
T# moves by however many points CAR gets.

The Islanders may have one lineup change — Kieffer Bellows back in for Ross Johnston, perhaps? — and will surely put Semyon Varlamov in net after Thomas Greiss won last night.
Barry Trotz says the Flyers are on top of their game, playing with confidence, dumping his old team just like the Isles did.

The Flyers welcomed Carter Hart and his awesome Ray Emery tribute mask back from injury last night, so Brian Elliott probably gets the turn for them. Otherwise:
