The New York Islanders’ affiliate announced four AHL signings Friday, with two returning players for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (and ECHL Worcester Railers) and two new additions.
Forwards Jeff Kubiak and Yanick Turcotte are the returnees, with Kubiak having split last season between Bridgeport and Worcester, while Turcotte racked up 186 PIM with Worcester.
Forward Erik Brown joins after captaining Rochester Institute of Technology in his fourth year there, and defenseman Justin Murray joins after finishing his OHL career with the Barrie Colts and Saginaw Spirit.
Brown also saw three games with the AHL Toronto Marlies at the end of last season on an ATO. At RIT he led the team with 18 goals as a senior last season, following a junior season with 29 goals and 42 points. He attended this week’s Islanders prospect development camp.
Murray should bring some offensive punch from the blueline, and he played in Saginaw with fellow Islanders draft picks Bode Wilde and Blade Jenkins.
