In the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, the New York Islanders selected their second center, Felix Bibeau at 178th overall.

Bibeau plays for Rouyn-Noranda of the QMJHL, where he won a league and Memorial Cup championship with fellow Islanders prospect Noah Dobson. The left-shooting center is listed at 6’0, 187 lbs.

At 20, he’s an overager who has been passed over in recent drafts. He put up 62 points (22-40) in 2017-18 and 69 points (28-41) in 2018-19.

This follows Friday night’s selection of Swedish winger Simon Holmstrom at 23, their second round pick at #57, big QMJHL defenseman Samuel Bolduc, and center Reece Newkirk of Portland (WHL).

The Islanders have one more pick to go, 209th overall in the seventh round.
