The already clinched New York Islanders are hosting their former captain who shall not be named as they are set to take on the not yet clinched Toronto Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs can clinch tonight with a victory. The Islanders meanwhile are trying to ward off the Pittsburgh Penguins for home ice in the playoffs for the first time in 30 years.

Robin Lehner is set to square off between the pipes and will square off against Frederick Andersen. Thomas Greiss and Garret Sparks will be the respective backups. The starters for tonight’s contest have been great. The Islanders backup has arguably been better than their starter while Sparks has people calling for non-descript AHL callups to take his job. If Andersen falters at any point in time now or in the playoffs, the Maple Leafs are done.

The Leo Komarov at centre disaster will continue tonight as he’s between Anthony Beauvillier and Tom Kuhnhackl. Tanner Fritz is injured and will miss the remainder of the season. That makes the Islanders third line one of the ugliest in the league and it’s something they should desperately try to address with an AHL callup as it would be hard to see them advancing with a line this bad in the playoffs.

Game time is at 7:00 P.M E.S.T.
