The New York Islanders are on home ice where they will attempt to do something they have not accomplished for 17 years - clinch a playoff spot on home ice. Their opponents - the Buffalo Sabres who are 1-8-1 in their last ten games. If things go according to plan, the Islanders officially be in the hunt for the Stanley Cup.
The Islanders did something they've seldomly done this season in bailing out a goalie having a subpar game in their last contest. Robin Lehner allowed four, but the Islanders stormed back in the third scoring twice in a minute to win five to four. Lehner is expected to start tonight against his previous club with Thomas Greiss backing him up.
Michael Dal Colle is expected to be in despite doming Lehner during practice. Tom Kuhnhackl is expected to be in the owner's box. Thomas Hickey, Luca Sbisa, and Dennis Seidenberg should also be there with him.
Game time is at 7:00 P.M. E.S.T.
