Islanders News: Columbus drops New York to third

The Isles ran into a wall of Bob and drop to third in the Metro.

NHL: New York Islanders at Columbus Blue Jackets
Surrounded and beaten.
Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sports

The Islanders had a chance to deal the Blue Jackets a sever blow and keep pace behind the Capitals (98 points) for first in the Metro. Instead, Columbus shut them out and the Isles wake up having fallen to third place (95 points), tied on points but losing the tiebreaker to their likely first-round opponents in Pittsburgh.

Five more to go, starting Thursday in Winnipeg {gulp}.
