New York Islanders at Philadelphia Flyers [Game 75]

The New York Islanders are back at it to take on the Philadelphia Flyers on the road. The Islanders have not been good recently - they’ve been outscored nine to nothing in their last two contests. While one of those shutouts was against a very good Boston Bruins team, the other was against a current lottery team in the Montreal Canadiens.

Fireworks occurred the last time the Flyers took on the Islanders as Jake Voracek injured Johnny Boychuk. Boychuk might get his chance at redemption, but then he might not - Barry Trotz was non-committal to any lineup changes and that could mean that Thomas Hickey is still in for him. One has to assume that Tanner Fritz and Tom Kuhnhackl are battling for a spot in the lineup here tonight, but there could be the surprise maneuver with Michael Dal Colle or Ross Johnston as well.

The starting netminder is also unknown. Both Robin Lehner and Thomas Greiss have seen better weeks - Greiss now holds the league lead in adjusted five-on-five save percentage by just three-hundreths of a percent while Lehner has fallen to .77 and is now outside the top ten of goalies (both out of goalies with at least 1500 minutes played as per Offside Review). The Islanders P.D.O. was never going to be as good as it was all season, but they’ve picked a particularly abhorrent time for it to fall apart.

Game time is at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T.
