The suddenly short manned New York Islanders take to the Bell Centre to take on the desperate Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens are currently trying to catch up with the Columbus Blue Jackets to get themselves into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Meanwhile the Islanders trail the Washington Capitals and are trying to hold off the Pittsburgh Penguins for home ice in the playoffs.
Thomas Greiss is expected to start in this one. Robin Lehner was lit up by the Bruins as he allowed three medium danger goals and one low danger goal en route in a match where the Islanders gave him no support as they lost five to nothing. His play has been falling off as of late and it may have cost him the starter's spot in the playoffs.
Valtteri Filppula is out for the regular season. The Islanders will turn to now-centre Tom Kuhnhackl on the third line. Michael Dal Colle is back in on line two. Johnny Boychuk is still out for Thomas Hickey.
Game time is at 7:30 P.M. E.S.T.
