The New York Islanders are set to square off against the Montreal Canadiens in a matchup for playoff positioning. The Islanders currently sit two points back of the Washington Capitals with a game in hand. The Capitals play later tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. Meanwhile, the Canadiens are trying to hold on to a wild card spot. They are currently tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets and both teams are trying to hold off the very same Flyers that are playing the Capitals.

Thomas Greiss is coming off of a shutout victory and will get the start tonight. Robin Lehner has returned from injury and will get backup duty. Christopher Gibson was sent back down to Bridgeport.

Johnny Boychuk is not quite ready to play, so the lineup will look the same. The Islanders only have one line and one pair that is in the top half of the league according to Daily Faceoff. They rode a P.D.O.-driven victory against the Blue Jackets on Monday, but they’ve not looked inspiring down this final stretch and could really use an influx of talent from one of the younger players, if not multiple ones.

Game time is at 7:00 P.M. E.S.T.
