The New York Islanders take on the Colorado Avalanche for what might be the final contest for the Avalanche on Barclays Center ice. The Islanders only have three games remaining at Barclays Center this season and the prospects of the club returning to Brooklyn look weaker by the day. They could split the games up once again, but that seems unlikely given the relatively noticeable differences in the crowd atmosphere between Barclays and Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Barry Trotz would not disclose which goalie gets the start today. Thomas Greiss and Robin Lehner are third and fourth respectively in GSAA according to Corsica while they are ninth and 11th in dSV%. Neither is a bad option at this juncture.
There may be a lineup change tonight if Cal Clutterbuck is unable to go. If so, Tom Kuhnhackl will get the nod in place of him with Ross Johnston and Luca Sbisa remaining in the press box. Clutterbuck’s injury should not result in a trip to the injured list, so don’t expect anybody to be recalled in the meantime.
Game time is at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T.
