The Islanders finish up a stretch of 10 games out of 13 on the road tonight in Florida. The Panthers are playing well this season under new coach Joel Quenneville and are in the midst of a nine-game homestand.
They’ll be healthy scratching Mike Matheson on defense tonight, who I’m pretty sure broke into the league in the 2016 playoffs against the Islanders. He doesn’t seem too happy about it.
#FlaPanthers D Mike Matheson did not have much to say about being scratched. Obviously upset. Said it’s a moment of adversity and he plans on bouncing back.

I am not yet certain of who will be starting in net for the Panthers, but it doesn’t sound like Sergei Bobrovsky is dressing. But that could have just been for practice.
Meanwhile, the Islanders will probably keep their goalie rotation in tact.
Thomas Greiss was the first goalie off from #Isles morning skate so it certainly appears franchise-record goalie rotation to start the season will extend to 30 games tonight at #FlaPanthers

And Nick Leddy will miss his second straight game despite practicing. Noah Dobson will remain in the lineup.
#Isles Barry Trotz confirms that D Nick Leddy will miss a second straight game tonight at #FlaPanthers. "He's progressing quite well but you won't see him tonight."
