Tonight at Barclays Center, the Islanders will try to extend their point streak to 16 games, which would set a franchise record for consecutive games with a point. More important, though, is the fact that they’re playing the Penguins, a team we hate passionately, and a team we love to beat.
And they’re not going to be happy about Tuesday night’s result.
The Islanders are getting Matt Martin back tonight; he was activated off IR earlier today and was back in his normal spot beside Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck. They appear to be healthy-scratching Ross Johnston, Leo Komarov, and Noah Dobson. They also appear to be keeping the goalie rotation in tact, with Thomas Greiss getting the start. I have to say, I really like the look of these lines.

It will also be Brock Nelson’s 500th NHL game, the second consecutive game an Islander will reach that feat—Cizikas hit that milestone Tuesday night.

As for the bad guys, it seems Matt Murray will be back in between the pipes.
