The guaranteed-first-place-at-the-All-Star-Break New York Islanders take to the road to take on Jeremy Colliton and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Islanders are on a five game winning streak and can gain a bit of ground on the rest of the Metropolitan with a victory. They’ll still have sole possession of first place even with a loss.
Barry Trotz would not name the starters for this one. Will it be Thomas Greiss who got a shutout in his last contest or will it be Robin Lehner who had a shutout in his last game? Nobody knows, but neither goalie seems like a bad option at this juncture.
It would be very surprising if any lineup changes were made after winning five straight. Even Adam Pelech has looked better since his benching for Luca Sbisa and it makes little sense to remove any of the forwards save for maybe Leo Komarov for the likes of Tom Kuhnhackl or Ross Johnston. That’s not happening with Komarov’s contract.
Game time is at 8:30 P.M. E.S.T.
