The New York Islanders and New York Rangers will do it again here tonight as they conclude their home-and-home series. the Islanders did not play their best game against the Rangers on Thursday - they were out-possessed by a pretty wide margin against the league’s second worst possession team and had just one shot in the third period. Fortunately, the Islanders shot 20 percent for the game on 20 shots, the one shot they took in the third went in, and they downed the Rangers by a score of four to three as Henrik Lundqvist continued to falter since being named to the Metropolitan All-Star Team.
Lineups have yet to be announced, but it doesn’t look as though there will be any lineup changes for today’s game. Keeping Ross Johnston in the lineup after he failed to scratch eight minutes, took a retaliatory penalty, and had a negative game score for Thursday’s is completely unjustified. Barry Trotz has done wonders this season, but his handling of Michael Dal Colle and Joshua Ho-Sang are a wee bit questionable.
The league once again scheduled the Islander, Rangers, and New Jersey Devils at the same time which means Islanders fans once again get the MSG+2 treatment. The MSG Go app is an option for those with Apple TV or who just want to watch it on their smart devices. Game time is at 1:00 P.M.
