We doth catered these bits to ye every whim!
Ye Olde Assortment o’ Bits
- Noah Dobson agreed to his entry-level contract yesterday. He is fresh off a season in which he was, as a defenseman, better than a point per game with 69 in 67, also good for second on his Memorial Cup winning Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He also impressed greatly at the World Junior Summer Schowcase in Kamloops, B.C. [LHH | Islanders]
- Arthur Staple takes note of Bode Wilde, some late-round picks in the system, and of Oliver Wahlstrom, whose ties to folks in the current organization go back decades. [The Athletic]
- One of those late picks is David Quenneville, who is relaxing with family and skating with uncle-in-law Johnny Boychuk ahead of his first pro season. [Medicine Hat News]
- He also rolls into the Top 25U25 at #16. [LHH]
- Right behind him is swingman Mitchell Vande Sompel at #15. [LHH]
- In light of all this and with Mat Barzal in the fold, former Islander great Bryan Trottier says the future looks bright. [NHL]
- As NBC Sports “changes its format,” the Rangers will still be featured 14 times on national TV, while the Islanders make only one appearance. [Newsday]
- That appearance will be in early January against the Blackhawks, who are on national TV like 18 times, also in the spirit of “switching it up.” [Islanders]
- Finally, Mike’s long, strange (and cheap) therapy continues. [LHH]
