The league-wide pursuit of John Tavares has begun. Teams, including the Islanders, have lined up at the CAA headquarters in Los Angeles to get a chance to pitch their franchise to the impending free agent.

Now that Phillip Grubauer is a mile high, we try to figure out who will be the starting goaltender next season. The Islanders prospect camp is underway, featuring camp veterans Michael Dal Colle and Joshua Ho-Sang.

The Islanders said goodbye to Alan Quine, Shane Prince and Brandon Davidson. Quine’s double-overtime goal in Game 5 of the 2016 playoffs vs. the Florida Panthers is the third-biggest goal since David Volek’s in 1993. Sorry, Shawn Bates.
