Islanders Clippings

  • The Duhatschek Notebook features a long look into what the Islanders may do this summer as far as goaltending and coaching. Can’t say I agree with the Cam Ward suggestion. [The Athletic]

  • When the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour stops in his birth home of Mississauga, Ontario, John Tavares will be there to celebrate it.
  • Justin Bourne, born in December of 1982, pretty much missed the Stanley Cup wins. But he does know, firsthand, how winning the Cup has a lasting and rippling effect for the players that win it and their families. [The Athletic]
  • The Sound Tigers donated $6,500 to Make-A-Wish Connecticut. The money was raised from the team’s inaugural Make-A-Wish Night on March 10. [Sound Tigers]

Stanley Cup Residual

  • It’s already happening, and Larry Brooks had to be the guy to kick it off: why the Capitals and Alex Ovechkin, despite winning the Cup, is still a loser. On one hand, it is really funny to poke fun at the Capitals’ (and Ovechkin’s) long and extensive history of failure to win; but on the other, they actually really did just win it. [NY Post]
