Game 80 has finally arrived as the schedule mercifully nears its end. The New York Islanders are tied with the Chicago Blackhawks as the eighth worst team in the N.H.L. in points percentage and while it would be fun to play spoiler to the universally-reviled Philadelphia Flyers, it behooves them to lose this game. It might be fan appreciation night, but Islanders fans have been given nothing to be excited about for months on end - given the proximity to Philadelphia during a holiday week, this one has the potential to sound more like an away game.

Christopher Gibson's emergency recall status expired and he was returned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Thomas Greiss gets the nod in tonight's contest. He'll be up against Petr Mrazek who has been nothing short of repugnant since arriving in Philadelphia.

The Islanders will roll with six defensemen in tonight's contest as Brandon Davidson and Dennis Seidenberg sit this one out. Casey Cizikas is still out with an injury and while it looked like Alan Quine might play, that isn't happening. Cal Clutterbuck, Chris Wagner, and Ross Johnston will once again make up a fourth line that sees two individuals with a Fenwick for percentage under 40 percent and relative percentages worse than negative ten percent.

This game is being relegated to the MSG+2 in New York as the New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, and New York Knicks are all playing. In Philadelphia, the game can be seen on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus as the Philadelphia 76ers are playing. The channel lineup is listed below.
