No Islanders/Sound Tigers games today. The Isles host the Flyers on Tuesday while Bridgeport is home to the P-Bruins.

  • Mathew Barzal’s had a great season, with some great milestones and memories (like his first goal, at the Garden), so he doesn’t really want it to end, understandably, and hopes to play at the Worlds. (We get you, Mat: You’re the only reason we don’t mind it continuing.) [TSN]

  • More on Anthony Beauvillier’s rebound after his brief Bridgeport demotion. If you’re looking for positive signs for next year... [Newsday]
  • Cool to see the Devils honor Stan Fischler during Saturday night’s victory over the Isles. [Newsday]
  • The season is over for David Quenneville and the Medicine Hat Tigers, who blew a 2-0 series lead, losing in overtime of Game 6 to the Brandon Wheat Kings last night. Quenneville finished the playoffs with eight points in six games (1g, 7a) after scoring 80 points in 70 regular season games (26g, 54a).
  • Meet the golf superintendent who is often the emergency goalie at Islanders home games. He had to dress in Golden Knights gear earlier this season. [Newsday]

Out west, the Avalanche lost in OT to the Ducks, though the regulation point bumped Colorado back into wild card position.

  • Lots of injuries to teams chasing playoff spots: The Avalanche lost Erik Johnson and Semyon Varlamov. [MHH] The Ducks won in overtime but both Cam Fowler and John Gibson were hurt. [CBS]
  • In Boston, Brandon Carlo’s season is over. [SCOC]

  • The Oilers being bad robs Connor McDavid of an MVP award, something many writers take very seriously and discuss all day on Twitter day after day. [NBC]
