Might as well have a separate open thread for the trade deadline, too, to keep the Bits post comments maybe sorta readable for once.
If you want to follow along, you have two streaming options this year:
Sportsnet’s coverage starts at 8 am on Sportsnet and the subscription Sportsnet NOW app. Features the usual gang from Hockey Central and Hockey Night in Canada; Elliotte Friedman, Chris Johnston, Nick Kypreos, Doug MacLean and many others. From 8am - 4pm, NHL Network will simulcast Sportsnet.
Meanwhile, their competition TSN will have their Tradecentre coverage simulcast on ESPN3 (aka, the app and website) all day today, with ESPN2 also picking up coverage from 2-4 pm. TSN is the home of Bob McKenzie, Pierre LeBrun, Darren Dreger, James Duthie, Ray Ferraro, and, ugh, Pierre McGuire.
So if you’re in front of a TV in the US, NHL Network might be your best bet (if you have it, of course). If a computer is more convenient, go with ESPN3.
Or just keep an eye on the SBN Mothership’s NHL Trade Tracker for basic breakdowns of every move. It will be updated throughout the day, but once the dust settles, it’ll be a great place to get all the info in one shot.
