The New York Islanders are home in a different home as they host the Winnipeg Jets in an inter-conference match on a Tuesday night. Tonight’s contest will certainly match the intensity and atmosphere of Saturday’s intra-division game against the Columbus Blue Jackets that just so happened to be in a different home building. The Islanders won that contest by a score of three to two and that was definitely the main story of the night.
The win on Saturday brought the Islanders back over real .500 for the season and they’ll look to build upon that. Thomas Greiss will get the start tonight while Christopher Gibson serves as the backup. Robin Lehner was injured in practice, but has not been placed on the I.R. with Barry Trotz describing it as nothing more than a tweak. Stephen Gionta was returned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to make room for Gibson and will hopefully never be heard from again.
No line changes will be made for tonight’s contest. Game time starts at 7:00 P.M. E.S.T.
