The New York Islanders are set to take on the Dallas Stars at home in the first and last contest at Barclays Center between the two teams. The Islanders Are looking to start a new winning streak tonight as they’ve won two straight after losing their three previous games. Their most recent victory came at the hands of the rival New York Rangers by a score of seven to five where the Islanders were severely outshot, but they made Henrik Lundqvist look pathetic.
The Islanders will finish this one in second place regardless of what happens as they cannot catch the Columbus Blue Jackets and neither the Rangers nor the Washington Capitals play tonight. A win would still be ideal to cushion their second place position in the standings. The Stars are in a fringe playoff spot themselves with 22 points in 19 games, but look to be in a pretty good place as the bottom two teams in the central are pretty poor and the Pacific looks pathetic.
Puck drop is at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T.
