Sorry but just a mini recap tonight:
The Sound Tigers started their two game trip to Canada with a game against the Laval Rocket, the minor league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.
I had to watch the replay of the game because I was out and I just finished watching it. Sound Tigers win it 2-1 in a shootout. It was a tight defensive game that was scoreless well into the third period. The Sound Tigers finally broke through on a PP goal by, you guessed it, Devon Toews with about 10 minutes left in the third period. It was Toews team leading 17th point of the season (come on Lou bring this kid up already!). Josh Ho-Sang with the primary assist for his second on the team 16th point of the season. In true Islanders fashion the Sound Tigers could not close out the victory in regulation as they gave up the equalizer with only :36 seconds left on a goal with the extra skater on and the goalie pulled for the for the Rocket. The OT was end to end with both teams trading scoring chances but nobody able to net a game winning goal so they headed for the shootout.
Much like the game nobody scored on the first 4 attempts of the SO until Kieffer Bellows was able to wrist one past the Rocket goalie to finally win the game.
Sound Tigers are now 6-0-1 in their last 7 games and are back in action tomorrow night at 7 as they visit the Belleville Senators to finish off their Canadian swing this weekend.
