Vancouver Canucks at New York Islanders [Game 17]

The New York Islanders three game losing streak mercifully meets a schedule victory as they take on the Vancouver Canucks. The Islanders have played well for the most part during their three game losing streak, but a couple of sloppy plays and some lackluster goaltending has cost them in recent games. They’ll be the rested team against a Canucks team that just played (and lost) last night to the New York Rangers.

Thomas Greiss will be back in net tonight, taking over for Robin Lehner. Greiss and Lehner were back-to-back in delta save percentage prior to Lehner’s injury, but Lehner has posted a .872 five-on-five save percentage in the two games since his return. A quality performance by Greiss should give him more starts moving forward.

Luca Sbisa will get his fourth game in tonight at the expense of Adam Pelech. Barry Trotz stated that he still has faith in Pelech, but that this is an accountability piece. Matt Martin and Ross Johnston will make up the other scratches.

The Islanders have fallen from first to fifth thanks to their recent skid. Tonight’s game is a perfect opportunity to get back on the right track before their contest against the Rangers on Thursday. Game time is at 7:00 P.M. E.S.T.
