Camp Divided: Islanders roster cuts ahead of Bridgeport camp

The New York Islanders officially trimmed their NHL training camp roster to 31 ahead of the start of AHL Bridgeport’s camp on Monday.

The cuts follow three junior reassignments last night (Kieffer Bellows, David Quenneville and Arnaud Durandeau, though Bellows received a parting ELC gift).

The remaining players include 18 forwards, nine defensemen and four goalies, including two of the latter who are among four AHL veterans placed on waivers before they can be reassigned to the AHL: goalies Christopher Gibson and Kristers Gudlevskis, plus defenseman Seth Helgeson and forward Connor Jones.

Also among the 31 still in camp are IR-listed players Shane Prince and Alan Quine, who have been injured since the start of camp. Here is the full list from the Islanders:
