The New York Islanders prospects who are in rookie camp this week visit Philadelphia for a rookie game against the Flyers, a return engagement for last fall’s rookie skirmish in New York.
The game will be streamed on both teams’ official sites (Islanders | Flyers), though with the scary “may be subject to blackout in certain regions” caveat.
Here’s the Islanders roster and numbers, a mix of top prospects, AHLers and campers:
Forwards
20 Kieffer Bellows
71 Michael Dal Colle
21 Arnaud Durandeau
36 Scott Eansor
47 Matthew Gaudreau
17 Connor Graham
52 Ross Johnston
63 Jeff Kubiak
62 Matthew Lane
74 Travis St. Denis
45 John Stevens
59 Yannick Turcotte
Defensemen:
28 Sebastian Aho
37 Sean Durzi
49 David Quenneville
54 Willie Raskob
58 Mitchell Vande Sompel
57 Parker Wotherspoon
Goalies
35 Mitch Gillam
34 Eamon McAdam
Bridgeport Sound Tigers coach will be behind the bench, guiding many of the players he’ll have in the AHL this season.
The Sound Tigers official site has more notes on some of these players, including the news that McAdam will start in goal.
If we’re to read into this roster, we’d say it features some important prospects (including Bellows, Dal Colle, Quenneville, Aho, Wotherspoon) but not the top prospects who are closest to an NHL roster spot.
On the other side, the Flyers roster will include 2017 second-overall pick Nolan Patrick, as well as several other top Flyers prospects.
