Happy 3rd of July folks. It was the second day of free agency yesterday, but there were still some fireworks. Outside, I mean. Lots of fireworks. It's 4th of July weekend or something.

Islanders News

  • Joshua Ho-Sang and Michael Dal Colle were happy to take advantage of extra work during Mini Camp. [Islanders Insight]

  • Carey Price, set to become a UFA next summer, signed a massive eight-year, $84 million extension, laden with lockout-proof signing bonuses totaling about $70 million. Start making non-hockey plans for the fall of 2019, friends. [HEOTP | SBN]
  • Marcus Kruger, long-rumored to be Vegas-bound one way or another, was finally traded to the Golden Knights yesterday. He was owed a $2 million signing bonus on July 1, which the Blackhawks could afford to pay. Chicago fans say farewell to the under-appreciated Swede. [SCH]
