New York Islanders at Dallas Stars [Game 62]

HO-SANG!

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Islanders are back taking on the Dallas Stars after a four day long mini-bye that saw the trade deadline come and go. Much to the surprise of exactly zero people, they made no trades. Some Islander fans maybe disappointed with this, but they were active the entire time and the national media didn't exactly rip them apart for this and there were a lot of disgusting overpayments, so maybe - just maybe - that was the correct maneuver.

While they won't add anybody from any other team to their roster, they did add Joshua Ho-Sang to the roster. Ho-Sang just won the AHL player of the month and was ripe for a call up. He'll be wearing jersey number 66 tonight which is controversial because some guy who never played for the Islanders wore it.

Cal Clutterbuck and Shane Prince will return tonight while Anthony Beauvillier gets the scratch due to illness. They'll serve in third and fourth line capacities. The other displaced members of the roster include Alan Quine who has an upper body injury and Bracken Kearns who was returned to the Sound Tigers where he scored in his first game back with the junior club.

Both Thomas Greiss and J.F. Berube were lit up in their last game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, letting in seven goals in 43 shots collectively. They faced Columbus' backup Joonas Korpisalo who stopped all 24 of the Islanders shots en route to his first career shutout. They'll face another backup tonight as Antti Niemi gets the start for Dallas.

Tonight's game can be viewed on MSG+2 in the New York metropolitan area or Fox Sports Southwest in Dallas. The puck drops at 8:30 P.M. eastern time. Dallas' coverage is over at Defending Big D.
