Leave your First Islanders Goal picks for tonight here by 7:30 p.m. EST game time.

  • It's Valentine's Day and these are perfect for the hockey fan in you. [SB Nation]
  • The top college free agent is...a defenseman who hits a lot and might make it as a third pair guy. Cool. [TSN]
  • P.A. Parenteau, who signed back with the Islanders only to be waived and throw his kids' fresh Isles gear in the trash, would really like to stay in the area but knows he might be trade bait for the Devils. He's been on the power play and the fourth line the last few weeks. [North Jersey]
  • Jim Rutherford doesn’t feel pressure to make a move because his team won the Cup last year. [Post-Gazette]
  • The Canucks should trade the Sedin twins...assuming they find a partner that can take all that cap on. [Puck Daddy]
  • Never good when you're invited to an "in-person hearing." Gustav Nyquist could get the longest ban of the season after his high stick on former Isles pick Jared Spurgeon. [THN]
  • The Canadiens have lost six of seven heading into their five-day bye week and Michel Therrien is on borrowed time, maybe, finally? [Sportsnet]
  • If you missed this Sunday night, must see: Alex Burrows messed with Robin Lehner, felt the wrath of goalie and team. [SB Nation]
  • Jere Lehtinen is humbled by his number retirement. [NHL]
  • Long and winding and speculative, but some thoughts on the Sabres locker room, with juicy quotes as always from irritable Robin Lehner. [THW]
