The New York Islanders welcome back some familiar faces in Thomas Vanek and Anders Nilsson as they take on the Vancouver Canucks back at Barclays. A win tonight would put the Islanders in first place in the absurd Metropolitan division as they continue their push for home ice. It would be the first time since March 10th of 2015 that the Islanders had first place.

The lineups look mostly the same. The only change will be to the fourth line where Anthony Beauvillier draws in for an injured Casey Cizikas. Jaroslav Halak had a good start in the last game, thus he gets to go again tonight.

Right now the Islanders are a superior team to Vancouver save for the special teams and goaltending. Possession metrics favor the Islanders, their defensemen are better, and their top two lines are better. If they don't take Vancouver lightly, then they should be looking at first place by the end of the night.
