Carolina Hurricanes at New York Islanders [Game 18]

Greetings from Barclays

Les Mavus

Fresh off of a western road trip that went exactly the opposite way everyone expected, the New York Islanders return home to Barclays Center to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Islanders were completely flat against the Dallas Stars and then took it to the St. Louis Blues the next game. They've had four days of rest and this team has been quite random, so just about anything can happen.

Carolina has been one of the top possession teams in the league this year, but it hasn't yielded results just yet. If the Islanders can win the possession battle, they'll stand a good chance in this one as Carolina isn't exactly stacked with shooters and their goaltending hasn't exactly been stellar.

Thomas Greiss is in net for this one. Thomas Hickey and Anthony Beauvillier are back in for Alan Quine and Dennis Seidenberg while Ryan Pulock is in for Scott Mayfield. Getting both Quine and Seidenberg out of the lineup should be huge for the Islanders - play goes backward with them on the ice. This is a near-optimal lineup for the club, so hopefully they can come away with the victory.
