The Islanders will appear in six nationally televised games on NBC Sports Network this regular season, one more they had last season. Prepare your ear holes for Pierre McGuire's signature player minutia at skull-splitting volume levels as necessary.

Via the team's official site:

DATE OPPONENT VENUE TIME NETWORK
NOV. 1, 2016 TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING BARCLAYS CENTER 7:30 P.M. NBCSN
NOV. 30, 2016 PITTSBURGH PENGUINS BARCLAYS CENTER 8 P.M. NBCSN
FEB. 9, 2017 PHILADELPHIA FLYERS WELLS FARGO CENTER 7 P.M. NBCSN
FEB. 23, 2017 MONTREAL CANADIENS BELL CENTRE 7:30 P.M. NBCSN
MAR. 13, 2017 CAROLINA HURRICANES BARCLAYS CENTER 7:30 P.M. NBCSN
MAR. 22, 2017 NEW YORK RANGERS MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 8 P.M. NBCSN

The games against the Canadiens and Hurricanes are a bit surprising, but the rest were mostly expected. The Islanders face the Lightning, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs this Spring, as well as three of their top rivals. The November 16th game against the Penguins and the March 22nd game at the Garden against the Rangers will both be part of the network's Wednesday Night Rivalry section. At least they're legit.

As yet, the team has no games scheduled on the big stage of flagship network NBC.

The full schedule of NBC and NBCSN games has been posted at the network's site and includes the usual heavy doses of Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Washington. The Blackhawks will appear 21 times on NBC this season, and the Capitals 14.

Please note that the Islanders' home games this season will still be played at Barclays Center, despite what your sources may have told you.
