  • Since you have to listen to him in U.S. hockey coverage anyway, might as well hear some Islanders tales from Mike Milbury. Okay, if you don't want to listen, Dan transcribed the most pertinent parts of He Who Shall Not Be Named's appearance on Roenick's podcast. [LHH | podcast on Stitcher]
  • The Islanders got the Puck Daddy eulogy treatment from a Panthers fan. [Puck Daddy]

The Rest of the World

  • The Blues trounced the Stars in Game 7. [NHL] They'll start the conference final Sunday at home against either Nashville or San Jose, who face off in Game 7 tonight.
  • In a familiar story for playoff "strugglers," it turns out Claude Giroux was injured and will need hip or hernia surgery. [BSH]
  • Speaking of which, the strange way we view "failures" in a sport where a bunch of good teams fall short every year: [Fear the Fin on the Capitals | Leafs Nation on the Capitals too]
  • This is a couple of weeks old, but an interesting defense of Dan Boyle having a go at the Post's hockey writers. [Blueshirt Banter]
  • P.K. Subban and Snoop Dogg, shooting hoops. (For charity.) [Montreal Gazette]
  • WHY WE PUT MODERN INGLORIOUSLY SPONSORED ARENA NAMES IN [bank or car renter or other] BRACKETS, CASE 482: First Niagara, which is apparently where the Sabres play, is going to be renamed KeyBank Center, which sounds even more stupid. [Die by the Blade]
  • Women's hockey legend Jenny Scrivens retires. [Puck Daddy]
