So Saturday didn't go as well as we and the Islanders would have liked. Game 3 is Tuesday in Brooklyn. Let's hope the Islanders didn't leave their power play in a Tampa hotel.

Beyond the frustration

  • Eric Fehr scored late in the third period to give the Penguins a 2-1 win and an even series against the Capitals. [SBN]
  • And in your Washington Capitals Dangerous Play of the Night™ presented by Geico, Brooks Orpik hit Pittsburgh's Olli Maatta up high and caused the defenseman to leave the game. I'm sure some supplemental discipline isn't coming. [SBN]
  • The Maple Leafs finally won something. No, seriously. They won the lottery and will choose first overall at the upcoming draft because tanking is totally brilliant when they do it and totally obscene when other teams do it. [PPP | Puck Daddy on happy man Brendan Shanahan]
  • The Winnipeg Jets, who didn't tank but just kinda sucked, will choose third second. Arctic Ice Hockey rejoices.
  • Columbus has the third overall pick and will surely find someone who will torture the Islanders for a few years. [Cannon]
  • Barkov, Kopitar and Eriksson are your Lady Byng finalists for the classiest of the classy. [NHL.com]
  • Two days later, the Ducks' firing Bruce Boudreau is still stupid on many levels. [SBN]
